Just a Glance

I don’t really think about stuff like travelling around the world to visit countries and to see different cultures, at least not today. But if I have to pick one country it would be the United States for sure. This is the country where everything happens, and because of tv shows, movies, music and culture in general that I liked my whole life it’s a place that I familiarized a lot over the years.

Don’t get me wrong, it’s true that I know and like much of the things in there, but this is not about how I love the country and everything that implies. In fact the lifestyle that they have and the impact of his culture is something that I criticize a lot, like their relationship with the countries of the middle east or how everyone in the world is trying to copy their ways of living due to the globalization effects. But anyway that is a conversation for another blog.

There’s so much I know about the U.S, and the things I would like to do have a lot in common with those things I like. A lot of take place in New York.

On one hand some cultural activities that would be nice could be going to a jazz club like “The Blue Note” to listen some music, visit the MOMA to see some art pieces, to the public library or the very popular Natural History Museum.

And in a more recreational way I would really like to go to places I see on the TV like the NBC'S 8H studio where Saturday Night Live is recorded, the Monk’s Café where the Seinfeld crew used to hang out, take a walk on Central Park, see a stand up show in some comedy club, or visit the dinner in New Jersey where the last scene of the soprano was shooted, among many others.

I don’t think I would like to live or study there, the lifestyle in there is very fast and I am not the kind of people that can live in places like that (Santiago is already too much!). But I would really like to take a general look to those things and places I always liked soo much.

  1. I agree with you, in U.S.A are a lot of bad things, but also is important admit that everything is there, so only for one time I like to visit it too.
